The NEDO GROUP, LLC
"It's easier to build strong children than to mend broken men."  ....  Frederick Douglass

Providing economically deprived, inner-city youth with academic and social supports at the middle school level enhances their chance of becoming employable, productive, conscientious adults.  Statistics indicate that when inner-city youth  enter middle school and lack academic and interpersonal skills, they are more likely to succumb to the negative, environmental influences that lead to dropping out of school, juvenile delinquency, and imprisonment if these issues are not addressed.

NEDO promotes the academic, economic and career progress for the underserved, urban youth by the following:

     -  partnerships with organizations that support inner-city youth initiatives in mentoring, academics, leadership and
        community service;

     -  academic remediation for students with academic challenges, so they graduate meeting academic
        standards, enter institutions of higher learning, and embrace life-long learning;

     -  career exposure to professions that lack racial diversity and preparation for 21st century jobs
        in professions that reflect employment trends; and

     -  create opportunities for students to participate in cultural excursions and collaborative projects that broaden
        their horizon and build interpersonal skills.

Providing support in the above areas enables inner-city adolescents to be more goal-oriented, confident, and equipped with an arsenal to navigate future academic, social, and professional challenges.

NEDO endeavors to help inner-city youth explore and achieve their ultimate potential, so they become productive members of society, altering the statistics of unemployment, juvenile delinquency, and imprisonment often associated with them.
